Job Description

FT, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE; Mon.-Fri., 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, and as needed.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, establishes, coordinates, and monitors the quality control/quality assurance program for the department. Performs laboratory tests and procedures required to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

?   Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or its equivalent, and

?   Bachelor’s degree in medical technology from an accredited university, or

?   Successfully completed 3 years of academic study in an accredited university and completed a twelve month course in an accredited training program, or

?   Bachelor’s degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and, in addition, have at least one year of pertinent full-time lab experience or training, or both, in the specialty or subspecialty in which the tech will perform tests, or meet other qualifications specified by Federal regulation 493.1431 or its successor.

Licensure & Certifications Requirements

ASCP Certification or Equivalent

Requires Washington State DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential within 6 months of hire.
