FT, 72 hrs/pp, .9 FTE; days as scheduled, 7 AM-7:30 PM.   

Job Summary:

The Resource RN is to provide staffing support that accommodates changes in patient census and acuity. To augment staffing needs during unscheduled time off when other staffing options are not available. To assist in the cost effective utilization of nursing personnel to promote the delivery of quality patient care. Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. To provide the hospital with an additional source of Registered Nurses for use in a variety of patient care areas by maintaining current competency in pediatric, adult, and OR patients and cross training to Med-Surg, swing beds, postpartum, Emergency Department, Outpatient Special Procedures, and Surgery Center.

 

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Hospital/clinical experience in one or more clinical areas.   With evidence of minimum one year of adult medical/surgical experience within past 2 years.

Current BLS (AHA).

Must be able to provide clinical reasoning; decision-making and critical thinking; promote compassion and therapeutic environment; maintain quality-working relationship with peers; provide exceptional customer service skills so that the customer feels valued at all times.

Strong written and verbal communication skills at the staff, patient and family levels.

Strong computer skills required.

Ability to shift assignments at a moment’s notice to meet the needs of the units.

Licensure & Certifications Requirements

Valid/unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in State of Washington.

Must have BLS upon time of hire or within 30 days of employment. ACLS within 6 months of hire.

PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire. NRP and TNCC within 1 year of hire.
