Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Informatics Officer, the Clinical Informaticist (CI) combines the disciplines of Health information technology (HIT), data, and information sciences with clinical care operations.  The CI collaborates with diverse stakeholder groups, and functions as the PMH point-person, in all aspects of the life cycle of clinical information systems implementation to transform the PMH clinical practices in accordance with strategicbusiness objectives.  The CI serves as a liaison between clinicians and IT professionals to facilitate a common understanding of the clinical standards and process improvement activities across multidisciplinary teams throughout the lifecycle of clinical systems implementations and maintenance activities. The informaticist ensures that organizational needs are adequately addressed, business objectives represented, and decisions regarding    system development/process changes are viable for the PMH culture/environment.  They work in partnership with leadership and staff to translate clinical requirements into specifications; evaluates the impact the information systems have on user workflow; identifies workflow and process changes that will enhance the use of provider, nursing and clinical information systems; ensures existing and future information systems facilitate clinical practice, delivery of safe patient care and are consistent with clinical practice standards. 

Required: Three (3) years’ experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR). Ideal candidate will have experience with EHR components like computerized Physician Order Entry, Bedside Medication Certification, Medication  Reconciliation, Automated Device Capture, etc. Three (3) years clinical training as a nurse, medical assistant, respiratory therapist, medical technologist, or other clinical discipline. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in health care or related field from an accredited program or informatics degree from an accredited institution or extensive applicable experience. Experience with training and/or orienting user to systems within a healthcare setting. Familiarity championing new ideas to clinicians and supporting pre, intra, and post-live needs. Epic proficiency or certification a plus.  

Pay Range: $40.02-$74.04
