FT, exempt, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE; varies as needed

Job Summary:

Supervises and manages work activities of hospital’s  Environmental Services (EVS) Department to ensure clean, orderly, attractive rooms within the hospital and other district facilities as required.  Assures staff has regular schedule of cleaning all areas to include floors within the facility.  Manages and coordinates activities of  EVS personnel in performance of their assigned duties.  Establishes goals, objectives, and standards of performance, develops and implements operating policies and procedures; interprets policies, standards, regulations and codes to personnel.  Responsible to the Director of  Support Services for  EVS activities in accordance with established policies.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High school graduate/GED with training and experience in EVS
  • Minimum of two years of experience in EVS; hospital experience preferred. 
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience with a proven ability to supervise and schedule 10-15 employees. 
  • Knowledge of aseptic cleaning techniques, floor care, waste disposal and all associated EVS
  • Word processing/keyboard skills required to become proficient in a variety of software programs.  

Licensure & Certifications:

Valid Washington State driver’s license with evidence of current automobile liability coverage.
