PT, 40 hrs/pp, varies as scheduled.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the nurse manager or designee, i.e., RN, Physician, assists in the care and treatment of patients consistent with training and scope of certification and/or licensure under hospital regulations. Under Charge nurses directions performs Post-Op phone calls. Provides direct care to patient’s surgery center. Performs combination of duties in care of patients under direction of nursing and medical staff and consistent with training and within scope of certification and/or licensure to include answers call lights or intercom system to determine patient’s needs.  Escorts patients to surgery center, Transports patients within facility using stretchers, wheelchairs, wheeled carts, or assists patients to walk. Transports patient specimens or blood work to the lab. Takes and blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and weighs patients. Cleans stretchers and prepares for next patient. Performs light inventory and  housekeeping duties.  

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

High school diploma/GED and graduate of medical assistant program. Current WA State DOH Medical Assistant-Certified credential. General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.  

Preferred: Six months Acute Care experience and background in Medical Terminology.
