FT, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE; days, varies as scheduled.

This position requires a skilled Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist or Advanced Diabetes Management Educator.  This position instructs patients who already have diabetes about their condition and what they can do to improve or manage it. The role will also work with patients who are pre-diabetic or otherwise at risk of developing this condition. The position will educate them about diabetes and what they can do to avoid getting it. Responsibilities also include: actively being involved in the development of a certified diabetic education program, working with patients who either already have diabetes or who are at risk for developing it, performing diabetes treatment tasks and monitor patients progress, educate patients and their families about diabetes/management, work with patients to identify and encourage opportunities or lifestyle changes, and maintain your knowledge of the latest information on the field of diabetes. 

Required:  WA State RN licensure or Registered Dietician. Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist Certificate (CDCES) and/or Board-Certified Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM).  Bachelor’s degree in nursing.  Completion of a formally recognized diabetes education training program.  Strong communication and customer service skills.  (BLS required, current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS)

Wage: $35.64 - $64.51
