FT, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE; varies as scheduled.  

Job Summary:

Surgical Technician:  Performs any combination of the following tasks before, during and after surgery to assist surgical team: Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instruments, according to instructions.  Assists team members to place and position patient on table.  Scrubs arms and hands and dons gown and gloves.  Aids team to don gowns and gloves.  Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts sutures, and performs other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.  Puts dressings on patient following surgery.  Counts sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation.  Washes and sterilizes equipment, using germicides and sterilizers.  Cleans operating room.

Central Supply Technician: Cleans, sterilizes and assembles hospital equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques.   Stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience in central supply preferred.

Licensure & Certifications Requirements

Requires registration as a Surgical Technologist in Washington State. Must have BLS upon time of hire or within 30 days of employment.

Pay Range: $24.57-$38.42
